IN THIS LESSON, YOU WILL LEARN: In this lesson you will learn how to make teas and the different ways of using them to drink, to bathe, for compresses and so on.

Lesson 4: Decoctions
IN THIS LESSON, YOU WILL LEARN: How to make decoctions and how to use them. They are used to prepare harder plant parts such as roots, barks, twigs, berries, and seeds that need a stronger extraction method.
SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES FOR THIS LESSON: Experiment with making decoctions from fresh and dried roots, barks, seeds and berries. When you make a decoction for drinking, before tasting it, look at the colour, inhale the aroma and note any impressions you get.

Section 3 - Oils, Vinegars, Tinctures and Pressing Off

Lesson 5: Oils
IN THIS LESSON, YOU WILL LEARN: How to make macerated oils for use in food, skin care and as ingredients for ointments and creams by the hot and cold methods from dried and fresh herbs.
SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES FOR THIS LESSON: Choose at least one dried herb to make a cold-infused oil. You will need a clean jar, your chosen vegetable oil and enough herb. Choose at least one fresh herb to make a warm method infused oil.

Lesson 6: Vinegars
IN THIS LESSON, YOU WILL LEARN: How to make infused vinegars from fresh and dried herbs for use in skin and hair care, as an ingredient in your cooking and to make oxymels. They can also be used as an alcohol free alternative to tinctures
SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES FOR THIS LESSON: Experiment with making some infused vinegar using both fresh and dried herbs. You will need some live vinegar, your herbs, and jars to infuse them in.

IN THIS LESSON, YOU WILL LEARN: In this lesson you will learn how to make your own tinctures from fresh and dried herbs to use as medicines and also as food ingredients.

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES FOR THIS LESSON: Try taking some cuttings from suitable herbs such as rosemary, lavender, curry plant or others you wish to multiply.
If you have a mint, melissa, meadowsweet or other plant which has grown large enough to divide have a go at dividing it to share the offspring with your friends and family.
