The Plant Medicine School - Wexford
The lane to our back field in Grá Nádúr
The Wexford Plant Medicine School is based in the small village of Hollyfort just outside Gorey town on a 5 acre site bordered by the River Bann.
It is run by Nikki Darrell (the course originator), her husband Alex Duffy who are assisted two mentors- Silja Harms and Tiarnan O’Sullivan.
Alex bought the land in 2014; a site with adjoining sloping woodland down to a small hidden field, which we call Sanctuary, and a beautiful lane connecting it with another field, named Community and gave the place the name Grá Nádúr (Nature’s Love).
The School is nestled in the 5 acre site providing a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere in which to learn about plant medicines and nature connection.
Polytunnels in our Community Field
Borage in the polytunnel
The Community field is filled with beds and two polytunnels containing many herbs and native species as well as vegetable crops to help feed the school and to provide medicines for the school apothecary. The entire place is filled with many native and naturalised plants (as well as insects and birds and small mammals) making it a beautiful setting for deeper nature connection due to the amazing biodiversity that is here.
Both the fields are cared for with nature-centred principles which makes for vibrantly healthy plants full of great medicine and nutrition.

Collaborating and working harmoniously with the other beings in the ecosystem of Grá Nádúr is our way of life and welcoming students to be part of this is our life’s work, as is encouraging a healthy community of plant medicine people who have studied with us.
