Questions …
With many options available, how will you choose your path to Plant Medicine?
Each training institution has its own values, philosophy, approach to education, and costs, often making it difficult to choose.
We outline our methods and clearly state what sets us apart and makes our schools unique to help you choose.
Nikki Darrell - School Founder
“I wish I had known these things about herbal education before training, so I created this school to include these key elements.
Would it be plant-centred, teaching herbal knowledge from the start and ensuring good plant identification skills?
Would it focus on local plant knowledge as well as exotic herbs?
Would it teach the fundamentals of herb growing, harvesting and processing?
Would there be experiential training in making herbal medicines rather than just dispensing ones bought from commercial manufacturers? Would we be taught to use herbs in all their forms, not just tinctures?
Would I be taught how to conduct client-centred consultations?
Could the course be divided into stages, and how would workshops be run to pass on herbal knowledge to my community?
Would it include naturopathic principles such as healthy nutrition, exercise, breath work and nature connection, and a holistic approach to health and well-being?
In my discussions with many students and practitioners, these are felt to be the key elements to help a person blossom into the best herbalist they can be.” Nikki

Kind words from some graduates
“Nikki has created a truly special school of herbal medicine. The focus on deep, experiential knowledge of the plants alongside awareness of listening to people and their needs is unparalleled. Nikki and the team go beyond what's written in the books to develop herbal medicine practitioners rooted in tradition, as well as prepared to provide relevant, compassionate support to their communities well into the future.”

"Studying at the Plant Medicine School for five years has been a transformative experience for me in a most amazing way. If before I had an interest in herbal medicine, now I have a passion for working with herbs, learning from them and sharing that knowledge. I loved every minute - and I will still be closely involved with the school in the future - and all aspects: from the kind, supportive and knowledgeable teachers to the curriculum, the style of studying - encouraging diversity and creativity in the process - to the community of other students that makes the school feel so authentic and alive. Enrolling in this course has probably been the best gift I gave myself."
